DRUM LESSONS & PHILOSOPHY.
Drum lessons should be fun. I format the lessons around a students' particular interests/goals. Everyone is different. Everyone learns differently. Drumming is quite physical, and everyone's body is different, so i don't believe that ONE technique will work for EVERY person.
I try to give a student the tools (technique/practice ideas/recordings/excercises) to become more expressive on the instrument. Great execution is meaningless without a good/creative idea behind it, so to focus on technical prowess alone misses the point.
There are so many elements to good musicianship on the drumset. I believe i can quickly identify the strengths and weaknesses of my students, and move them forward in a way that is creative, encouraging, and overall, FUN.
